
Research Assistant (f/m/d) specialising in Process Engineering, Process and Plant Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Energy and Process Engineering, or a comparable field
The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. We perform research and testing in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry to improve the safety of products and processes. At BAM we do research that matters. Our work covers a broad array of topics in the focus areas of energy, infrastructure, environment, materials, and chemistry and process engineering.
Your responsibilities include
Independent research and development as part of a third-party funded project entitled ‘Risk assessment of deeply discharged energy storage devices’ within the overarching project ‘Lithium-ion battery transport and safe deactivation for recycling (LiBaTra)’.
- Development and construction of test setups
- Conducting test series
- Test evaluation and analysis
- Report writing for project sponsors
- Scientific publication in English
Your qualifications
- A successfully completed university degree (Diploma / Master’s) in the field of process engineering, process and plant engineering, electrical engineering or energy and process engineering, or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge and experience of experimental work
- Good knowledge of the analysis and processing of experimental data, as well as the presentation of results (e. g. Origin)
- Experience in producing scientific publications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
- Willingness to undertake domestic and international business travel
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication and information management skills, initiative and commitment, decisiveness, ability to work in a team and cooperate, as well as conceptual, strategic and innovative thinking skills
